In 2006 it was time to replace the ancient Rigoutat, some notes were just plain trouble to play as the instrument required constant adjustment to stay sealed. I ordered several Yamaha oboes from Midwest Musical for trial. I ultimately took ownership of a YOB841, though I did compare it against the YOB841T which had the third octave. I took advantage of the time I had the third octave models in my posession and some of the photos are below include that horn, as well as my own.
